Sukhbir’s thirst for power instead of a sense of sacrifice: Dhindsa

Former minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that instead of showing a sense of resignation, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal is trying to regain power and is looking towards the BJP. He said that without the strength of the Akali Dal, there is little chance of reaching an agreement with the BJP. He was talking to the media at the residence of Akali leader Kuldeep Singh Sidhu in Moti Bagh Colony Phulwal today. He said that the Akali Dal is seeking the support of the BJP for its revival. Dhindsa said that the Akali Dal can return to its previous position only if the people who have abandoned Panthic principles follow the principles and accept the Hukamnama of December 2, 2024 issued by the Sri Akal Takht. He said that Sukhbir Badal accepted the things in the Hukamnama that he found right and did not accept the things that were against him. He said that the five Singh Sahibs had issued the Hukamnama of December 2 while representing the sentiments of the Sikh community, but the Akali Dal is rejecting it. Parminder Dhindsa said that his father late Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa also wanted to see the Akali Dal strong. Even during his last moments, he had advised Sukhbir Badal to show a sense of renunciation by resigning, but he did not want to step down from the presidency. He said that he would make every effort to fulfill the last wish of late Dhindsa. Dhindsa said that the aim of the five-member committee is to win the trust of the Sikh community and strengthen the Akali Dal by safeguarding the ideology according to Panthic traditions.
