Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections on 25

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections will be held on June 25. This information was given by the current president of the committee, Harmeet Singh Kalka, today. While talking to reporters at the headquarters of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee at Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib, he said that the Director Gurdwara Elections has sent a letter regarding the conduct of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections. Kalka said that the elections will be held in a democratic and peaceful manner. He warned that if anyone tries to disrupt law and order, it will be dealt with appropriately. He said, “Our party will unanimously elect the office bearers in the coming time.” Comparing it with the SGPC elections, he said that unlike Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal who announces the name of the president by giving an envelope, in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, the names of the office bearers will be proposed by the youngest member. He will get the support of the other members and then the election will be held by the General House. The committee will elect a president, general secretary and other office bearers as well as an executive committee. Regarding the delay in the elections, Kalka said that these elections could not be held due to petitions filed by the opposition in the courts. Now that two years have passed since the elections, the Director Gurdwara Elections and the Lieutenant Governor have decided to hold these elections.
