Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj has termed as “unfortunate” the BJP-led Delhi Government’s decision to reject a petition seeking the release of Sikh political prisoner Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar.
He urged the Sikh community to continue raising its voice peacefully for the release of Bandi Singhs.
Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa had met the Jathedar at the Akal Takht Secretariat.
“When they asked for any service, I had particularly asked the Delhi CM to ensure release of Bhullar as soon as possible,” he said.
Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi had kept the matter of Bhullar’s release pending and failed to respect Sikh sentiments, he said
