BJP activists staged protest in front of the office of Fazilka Deputy Commissioner today, alleging large-scale rigging in the recently concluded zila parishad and panchayat samiti elections in Fazilka district. Former minister Surjit Kumar Jyani and district president Sukhwinder Singh Kakka Kamboj accused the AAP government of misusing government machinery to influence the elections.
In a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, BJP leaders alleged that their candidates and polling agents were misbehaved with and pushed out of the counting centres by the police at the behest of ruling party leaders.

The discrepancy has raised many eyebrows and serious questions over polling and counting procedures. It is stated that ballot boxes have been sealed and the counting has been stopped.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Subhash Chander while admitting the lapse said that the report has been sent to state Election Commissioner and further action would be taken after receiving instructions from the commission
