Addressing the gathering, Punjabi Khatri Suraksha Manch president Vikrant Dhamija said the community would submit a memorandum to all 90 Haryana MLAs, urging them to support the creation of a “Refugee Act” and a strict law against the use of caste-based or derogatory language.

Dhamija said the Centre, the Haryana Government, MPs and MLAs should work towards enacting legislation that prevented individuals from using casteist or offensive words against others. Such a law, he said, would help ensure mutual respect and maintain social harmony.
