People make efforts to rescue the youth stuck while changing the Nishan Sahib flag at a gurdwara in Abohar.
Tension gripped Gidderanwali village in Abohar on Wednesday morning when a young volunteer got stuck about 90 ft high while changing the Nishan Sahib flag at the village’s gurdwara. The incident occurred during intense cold and fog, bringing normal life to a halt.
The 20-year-old volunteer climbed the pole to change the flag at Gurdwara Sahib of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. While doing so, a wire broke, leaving him stranded. He remained stuck for about three to four hours in the biting cold.
Experienced Sikh men attempted to rescue him but failed. A safety net was spread below, and a crane was arranged from Sriganganagar to bring him down. With the help of military personnel and gurdwara volunteers, the young sewadar was successfully rescued and admitted to Abohar Civil Hospital for treatment
