Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal today reached the house of an Akali leader in Nabha but returned without meeting Bikram Singh Majithia, who is lodged in Nabha jail. Sukhbir had come to the village here to mourn the death of Akali leader Lakhvir Singh’s brother. After this, he returned instead of going to Nabha jail. On this occasion, Sukhbir Badal did not interact much with the media. He refused to answer other questions from the media by giving a short statement regarding the law being made regarding sacrilege in a hurry. He said that instead of arresting the culprits of sacrilege, everyone has done politics on this issue. It is worth mentioning that Sukhbir Badal’s close relative Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia is lodged in judicial custody in Nabha jail on charges of disproportionate assets. Majithia, who has been in jail for the past 9 days, has not been visited by any Akali leader except his MLA wife Ganiiv Majithia. Today, with Sukhbir Badal’s return like this, there has been a round of discussions in the area. However, the party’s Nabha constituency in-charge Makhan Singh Lalka said that Mr. Badal had no plans to go to jail today and he had to go to someone in Banbhaura to apologize. On the other hand, the jail officer said that we did not receive any application from Sukhbir to meet Majithia.
