The public prosecutor has sought 60 days to understand the case.
New Delhi: Nikhil Gupta, accused of being involved in the conspiracy to murder Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in the US, has again demanded a Hindi-speaking/understanding government lawyer in the court yesterday. On which the lawyer provided to him has sought 60 days from the court to read his case.
It is noteworthy that Gupta was extradited to the US from the Czech Republic last year. He said that since I was extradited from Prague to the US, I have not been given any consular access and no one from the Indian embassy has come to meet me. My family had raised several requests for this but till date no one has come to meet me. Along with Nikhil Gupta, Vikas Yadav, who was initially identified as an Indian official, was also named in the case by the US prosecutor.
