Moga: The United Kisan Morcha has rejected the draft National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing and has called for burning its copies on January 13 and taking out a tractor march in Punjab on January 26 like in previous years. The rally will protest the National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing (NPFAM) and raise the demands of MSP on Swaminathan formula, legal purchase guarantee, loan waiver of farmers and laborers. This announcement was made today during the Mahapanchayat organized by SKM in Moga. Farmers from all corners of Punjab had gathered in Moga to participate in the Mahapanchayat in record numbers.

The Moga Mahapanchayat passed a resolution to reject the National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing and demanded legal guarantee for Swaminathan Formula and Minimum Support Price on procurement, implementation of all agreed points of the Delhi Accord and loan waiver for all farmers and labourers. It passed a resolution of unity considering the magnitude of the demands of the farmers. The 6-member Unity Committee of SKM will go to Khanauri and Shambhu borders tomorrow, 10th January 2025 and take oath for unity. During this visit, the six-member committee invited both the platforms for a joint meeting on 15th January in Patiala.

SKM stressed that the central government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, are responsible for the current state of affairs and condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on a fast to death. They appealed to the central government. They should talk to the struggling organizations to save Dallewal’s life. The front warned that if any untoward incident happens to the life of Mrs. Dallewal, the entire responsibility will be with the central government.

The Mahapanchayat declared that the new National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing is a dangerous embodiment of the repealed and repealed 3 black farm laws. It further stated that the Central Government is once again working for the imperialists and against the federal character of the Constitution of India.

The policies of the World Trade Organization and its corporate friends have launched a fresh attack on India’s farmers and we cannot remain silent spectators. He appealed to all state governments to uphold federal principles and reject the bill by passing resolutions in their assemblies. He said that opposition-ruled states should take the lead in this and welcomed the statement of the Punjab Chief Minister in this regard. He also demanded that the Punjab government should immediately convene a session of the assembly and pass a resolution to reject it.

The leaders appealed to the farmers to be ready to mount a strong and united movement against the central government.

Mahapanchayat leaders said that the Parliament Standing Committee has made incomplete recommendations on Minimum Support Price and Purchase Guarantee, forgetting the recommendations of the Swaminathan Committee. The SKM has rejected these recommendations and said that they are ready for the long-running agitation demanding MSP.

Joginder Nain and others.

The United Kisan Morcha will hold its National Council meeting in Delhi on January 24 and 25 to announce its future programs.
