Ambedkar issue: Singla seeks Shah’s resignation

Former Sangrur MP Vijay Inder Singla here today demanded resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah for his comments on Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said the BJP had been venting its anger at the architect of the Constitution, Dr Ambedkar, for its own failures.

He further said the Home Minister’s remarks in Parliament were a blatant disrespect to Baba Saheb, reflecting the BJP’s disregard for constitutional values. He also accused the BJP of evading accountability on critical issues, such as the Manipur crisis, the farmers’ protests, rising unemployment, etc

He further stressed the immense contribution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar in ensuring justice and rights for women, Dalits, economically weaker sections, and marginalised communities. The nation would never tolerate any disrespect towards Baba Saheb or his ideals, he added

Singla said that on December 24, he would lead a protest march from Ambedkar Chowk to the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Sangrur where a memorandum would be submitted to the DC
