Chief Commissioner Gurdwara Elections Punjab has issued a revised schedule for the preparation of voter list for Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (Board) elections. Now, according to the revised schedule, the last date for obtaining the form for casting votes for Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Board elections has been extended to 15 December 2024. District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi informed about this. According to the revised schedule, the initial publication of the voter list will be done on 03 January 2025. Claims and objections will be made up to 24th January and their settlement will be done by 05th February 2025.
He said that the applicants who fulfill all the conditions under Rule No. 3 of the Sikh Gurdwara Board Rules 1959 can fill Form No. 1 and submit it till December 15, 2024. He said that the final publication of voter lists will be done on February 25, 2025, after claims and objections on the preliminary published voter list.
He said that every Kesadhari Sikh above the age of 21 years who does not trim or shave his beard or hair and does not smoke, drink alcohol and does not consume meat, where he lives, the Sikh related gurdwara election. To register his name in the electoral roll of the constituency, he can fill Form No.1 (for Kesadhari Sikhs) and give it to the Patwaris, BLOs, Designated Employees in the villages/cities. The faith of the person making the vote should be in Sikhism and only one who believes in Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji can make the vote. He appealed to the Kesadhari Sikhs and asked them to ensure that they pay special attention to some important instructions at the time of form bharam.
He said that Aadhaar card as proof of residence along with a passport size photograph, ECI along with the forms. Voter ID issued by Card (with photo), Indian Passport, Driving License, Service ID issued to employees. Card with photograph issued by Central/State Government/PSU/Public Limited Company, Bank/Post Office issued passbook with photograph, PAN Card, NPR Under R.G.I. Smart Card issued by MNREGA, Job Card, Health Insurance Smart Card issued by Ministry of Labour, Government Pension Document with photo, any one of the official identity cards issued to MPs, MLAs and MLCs.
